Soul searching

"You are spiritually blind when you don't know that thoughts are things, that what you feel you attract, and that what you imagine, you become" - Dr.Joseph Murphy

Who am I?

In recent times I have searched for new avenues and for more answers. Questions like 'Who am I', 'What am I doing here', 'What happens to me when I die' have for a long part of my life always been with me. My search has led me to many answers from many sources. It also came over a period of time. Most of my answers received are very much unorthodox theories and philosophies which will not be accepted by the general public. However there is much which I intend to change in my life to bring about the new dawning.
Let me share with you a few ideas if you care to listen. I guess that one of the most important concepts to grasp is the idea of our dualism nature. This means that I, Brian, consist of two distinct parts, Brian the body of whose hands is typing this paragraph, and Brian the soul whose spirit force has has willed to write this webpage. That is, the body and the soul. My body came into the world when I was born, but my soul was already in existence. Likewise, my body will one day pass on, but my soul will still exist. The soul is therefore the pilot, and the body, the vehicle. We use many names for our soul. It is our spirit, our life force, our subconscious, our subjective mind ond others. I believe that this is important because we then understand that someone can beat the living daylights out of us, but not harm our soul. However someone we dislike can totally disharmonize our soul because of our negative feelings toward the person.

An interesting point to note is that our dislike toward the person brings a like response upon ourselves. It's just not healthy for ourselves. Just as we know that every action produces a reaction, it is similar in a spiritual world where every mental action produces a mental reaction. Thus, one of the first rules in life is to forgive. Not so much for the other person, but for our own well being. It keeps us at peace with the world by keeping us in a positive frame. Thus, what Jesus preaches is actually very accurate. Offer the other cheek. It is important that we do not dwell in anger, hatred, revenge or bitterness. The reason being that it is self destructive. Likewise, He preaches forgiveness, which in effect if done sincerely, removes our feelings of negativeness, and improves our well being. Thus, just as we guard our material property, we also need to guard our spiritual side, being our mind.

Rule 1: Be at peace with the world. Love and forgive. It's for our own good!

Have no fear

The next thing we have to look at in ourselves is our inherent fears. From the time of birth into this world, we have been moulded, according to the people who care for us and the people who we associate with. While some fears are essential for our survival, most are just walls which we build around ourselves. On one hand, they prevent others from entering and harming us, but on the other hand, we are prevented from expanding and reaching out. However, the real problem with fear is within the concept of our own minds. The thoughts which we dwell upon most are what will materialize in our physical environment. Simply put, thoughts become things. Thus, if we always look at the world as a slaughter house with everyone out to get us, our lives will naturally be one where we always look over our backs. Naturally, it will not be a very happy life. This is a good justification to believe that the world is full of love, as we will find our lives enriched with love. Going back to fear, to fear is to actually anticipate the object of our fear happening to us. Thus, persistent dwelling on the fear will attract that very object of fear toward us. The first law of our lives here is the law of attraction, "Thoughts are things. What you think and believe of in the spiritual world, eventually materializes in the material world."

Rule 2: Ommit fear. Live life to the fullest.

Stepping Out

Having acknowledged fear, we need to get out of it's hold on us. One of the first things we need to do is to step out of the collective conciousness of this world. We have been moulded since birth to follow the rules of society. Often, we have been restricted from expanding ourselves. We are told myths like you were born poor, you're not good enough, you must follow, obey to your superiors. Thus the general populace work smoothly together, united in one mind, living their daily lives as workers in the field, cogs in the system. This is the collective conciousness of the world where we all operate within our safe limits. Unfortunately, it results in individuals who are just part of the system, but never really achieving much in this life. We need to look at the bigger picture. Are we just droids working in this world to earn money to live hand to mouth? Or are we spirits, operating physical bodies to create the surroundings that we envision?

If we can accept that we are spiritual beings, we can understand that we are actually much more powerful than we realize. We have the ability to create our own environments to our own likings. How? By connecting with our spiritual side, comprehending that we are spirits existing in all dimensions at all times throughout space, everywhere but now incarnated in a physical form. The human form is in a continous state of evolution and progress. We have evolved from brute to civilised man and now we are progressing toward clairvoyance, or the development of our sixth sense. This will eventually give us a better understanding of ourselves and our lives here, and help us to take control of our lives. Our lives on earth are like plays. The world is a stage and we, the actors. However, did you know that your soul is the director for your own little play? Everything that happens in our lives is a function of our thoughts. Understanding this, you will realize that changing your thoughts will change your environment.

Rule 3: Empower yourself. Step out of the Matrix.

"Worldly riches have been feared, despised, condemned, and even hated by spiritual aspirants, because of ignorance of how to be in them and yet not of them, how to possess them and not be possessed by them. Doubtless this attitude of repudiating and ignoring wealth is less deceiving than the other error; greed and the worship of money and the fear of losing riches. But the really wise avoid both attitudes through knowing worldly wealth to be but a reflection of the real, the spiritual riches that must be sought first, last and always. Having found the riches of heaven, you cannot escape the riches of earth unless you purposely repudiate them." -- Annie Rix Militz in Both Riches and Honor, a Unity Book.
