Music is such an integrated part of my life that I can use it to express feelings, to control moods, to control other people's moods and to just loose myself into a different world.
I listen to almost all kinds of music. I like the old stuff like Simon and Garfunkel and Carpenters,
I like alternative stuff like Alanis Morissette and Cranberries, I enjoy the haunting Celtic music (Northern Lights,
Scartaglen etc), I like soft rock (Scorpions, Def Leppard), I like pop jazz (Pat Methney, Fourplay,
George Benson), I like Classical (Mozart, Dvorak, Beethoven), I enjoy pop music (Prince, MJ, Soul For
Real), I'll listen to ballroom hits like In the mood, Spanish Harlem etc., I love techno beats (Prodigy)
and I'll listen to anything else I get my hands on.
I see music as a way for humankind to express itself, be it love, anger, sadness, happiness or any other emotion or issue. Often it is a means of the young to be heard. Unfortunately, it can just as easily be misused to influence and bring on negative emotions. While I think that the grandest moments in music is when listening to a live performance of a musician or vocalist, I also believe that our daily pop music is equally important, if not more important, as it has the ability of reaching and teaching far more people than 'cultured' music will ever reach.
